Synopsis: In this music video co-produced and written by brother and sister, Jeremy (18) & Valerie Abboud (14), as well as Mikael Conde (Midway with Woody Harrelson, Fatman), a celebrated artist awakens at a manor, to which he was invited by an eccentric aristocrat who is now trying to kill him. Using his wit, he attempts to make it out alive. The film is also aided by assistant producer Kyle Meagher (TIFF alumni, Anne With an E). Already a South Texas International Film Festival official selection.

Bio:

Jeremy Abboud is an 18 year old multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter from Ottawa, Canada. His self-released music has been streamed over half a million times, with his latest single debuting on Sirius XM, reaching #39 on the Canadian rock radio chart (Mediabase) and staying top 50 for 7 weeks, as well as gaining support from The Strokes’ producer, Gordon Raphael. Although now leaning towards a catchy blend of contemporary pop and energetic rock, his debut album (recorded at 16 years old) delved into 60s territory, on which he got to work with legendary engineer Eddie Kramer (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones) as well as Kevin O'Leary (Shawn Mendes). With a love for film and classic cinema, he has now begun writing and directing film-style music videos, and is moving into full film projects as well.

Statement:

A goal for the cinematography was to make use of mirrors to reveal hints and show different perspectives. We also used the set, wardrobe and props to infuse a classic Hollywood aesthetic. As for music, it was important to use the songs like scores, with their intensity’s ebb and flow following and enhancing the plot. As an avid film lover, I took on the challenge/opportunity of learning and perfecting my abilities in foley, ADR, sound mixing, grading, etc., which I did myself. Our 7 person crew was all under 24.
