Statement:

Visiting Friends is definitely a film that I felt I had to make, inspired by a true rideshare story and things in the news like the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. I started to think about what it would be like if someone went above and beyond to help a human trafficking victim. What if we did more than tweet hashtags and actually intervene in order to help someone? What if we all cared about each other just a little more... Those were the types of questions that led me to write and make Visiting Friends. I was so fortunate to work with such a wonderful group of fellow artists who braved a pandemic with me. We tried our very best to be careful and, thankfully, no one got sick. I recognize that I’m a privileged person with only first world problems; my biggest hope for the film is that it will serve as a reminder of how much human beings need each other.
