Bio:

Hector Zertuche is a native Texas filmmaker born in Beeville Texas and raised in Corpus Christi. He has written and directed multiple award-winning short films all shot in South Texas. Throughout his career, Hector Zertuche remains committed to his craft and the art of storytelling. He embraces the ever-evolving landscape of cinema, constantly seeking new ways to push boundaries and connect with audiences. Hector is the founder and owner of Knightstorm Productions, a small production house in Corpus Christi that helps produce independent films from local filmmakers.

Statement:

Shi/ing Gears was a story about grief and how we deal with losing someone you love. I was inspired to tell this story a/er years of dealing with anxiety and how I was able to hide it from most people. The main character does the same as she hides her situa@on from someone she's known her whole life. Some@mes we need that first step forward to be able to move again, maybe even a push.
