Synopsis: An overworked writer finds himself drifting in and out of his fictional world. Where does he find the line between reality and the noir crime thrillers he writes.


Jason Angco-Barrera

Bio:

Jason Angco-Barrera was born and raised in Laredo, TX. He entered the theatre world in his senior year of high school. From there he fell in love with the world of performing arts. After graduation, he applied to Texas State University where he earned his Bachelor's of Arts in Acting. He was in multiple plays during his tenure at Texas State. He also worked on lights, set design, and make-up during his time there. Once receiving his Bachelor's, Jason moved back home to Laredo where he worked as a Stage Manager, Actor, and Technician for the Lilia Martinez Performing Arts Center. This inspired him to further his education in the world of theatre. So, he applied at the University of Texas Pan American where he concentrated on Directing and Writing. He earned his Master of Arts in Theatre three years later. While at UTPA, Jason wrote original plays that were produced by the Latino Theatre Initiative. He also starred in shows such as, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," "Life's A Dream," "Over the River and Through the Woods," "Arsenic and Old Lace," and the film "Waiting for Sandoval." The world of film also became important during his time at UTPA, starring in over a dozen student films and one major production.
