Joe Quesada

Bio:

Joe Quesada is best known for his career as a driving force at Marvel Entertainment, guiding the stories of some of the world’s most beloved superheroes. Born José Luis Quesada Jr. to Cuban immigrant parents in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, Joe, a die-hard New Yorker, discovered an unexpected creative muse, Sun Valley, Idaho. Recently announcing his departure from Marvel, FLY is Joe’s inaugural foray into the world of indie filmmaking and the first in a trilogy of shorts he hopes to make about his newly adopted home and the everyday superheroes that live there.

Statement:

When I entered the world of graphic fiction, I saw it as a road to creating my own characters and stories and hoping to one day direct those adventures on screen. But, sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and you can find yourself on a completely different path, losing sight of the shore. I’m not complaining; I’ve been blessed with so many opportunities, but lately, I’ve been thinking more and more of the line from T.S. Eliot’s Little Gidding, "We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.” FLY, along with all my friends and family who helped me make it, many of whom had never been on a set or in front of a camera before, have shown me the way back home.
