Hondo Constante Teran

Bio:

My name is Hondo Constante Teran.

Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, I quickly took to camera work as a youth, capturing the sights and sounds of the RGV around me. All while writing alongside the camera as it rolled, channeling the thoughts the camera couldn’t quite capture. I eventually began to create my own worlds, inspired by the films I saw at home or with my family on the weekend at the theater.

Enamored by the art of filmmaking, I felt as if I had found my purpose. Watching & creating films made me feel every emotion imaginable. I had the opportunity to sharpen my skills at UTRGV before transferring to Texas State University to finish my degree. During my time at University & after, I got to be a part of various forms of media such as a radio DJ, news video journalism, commercial productions as a cinematographer, and passion projects.

The journey continues to this day. My goal is to create a thriving film and TV production company that highlights the beauty of the area I call home while uplifting and working with local talent in the RGV. We aim to showcase our productions on a large scale, attracting talent and funding to the area.

It is an honor to be a semi-finalist at STXIFF alongside the other nominees. I am thankful for the opportunity and the journey.
