Curtain Call


Synopsis: In a competitive high school theatre program, a passed-over high school senior finds herself overshadowed by a precocious freshman. Mired in jealousy, she must come to terms with the fact that she isn’t as talented as she wants to be.


Christian Jacob Ramón

Bio:

Christian Jacob Ramón (he/him) is a Mexican-American filmmaker, writer, and educator born and raised in McAllen, Texas. After earning a Film Studies degree at Columbia University, he moved to Austin, TX, where he currently resides. In 2019, he was selected for a “Latino Content Creator Scholarship” to attend Latino Media Fest in Los Angeles. His recent narrative short, "Hard" had its world premiere at the 2021 Inside Out Film Festival in Toronto, and was screened at the AFS ShortCase at SXSW 2022, along with film festivals in Sydney, Vancouver, Chicago, Honolulu, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay. He currently works at Austin Film Society as Program Manager of Community Education, and is in development on a personal essay documentary project set in the RGV about his grandfather and a historical catastrophic train accident.
