Imole Ladipo

Bio:

Imole Ladipo is a Nigerian-born, Texas-based filmmaker whose work is rooted in emotional truth, human connection, and visually compelling storytelling. She is drawn to stories that live in quiet, intimate moments—where tension, vulnerability, and empathy intersect, and where a single decision can shift everything.

With a background in mathematics and chemical engineering, Imole brings a thoughtful, structured approach to her filmmaking, balancing precision with deep emotional instinct. Her journey into film has been entirely self-driven, shaped by resilience, curiosity, and a genuine love for storytelling. She trained at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and continued to refine her voice through programs such as the Sundance Directing Class and Raindance.

Imole has had the opportunity to collaborate with a range of respected and acclaimed actors, including Eric Roberts, Rotimi Paul, Angel Parker, and Nene Nwoko, among many others—an experience that has deepened her commitment to performance-driven directing and creating space for honest, layered portrayals on screen.

Her recent film What Happens Now? explores grief and confrontation through a deeply personal lens and has screened at notable festivals, including the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, earning awards such as a Gold Remi Award at WorldFest Houston and a Telly Award. Her psychological thriller 8:38 continues that exploration of tension and perspective, earning early recognition as a HollyShorts Quarterfinalist.

Imole is passionate about building inclusive creative environments and telling stories that resonate across cultures and communities. As she expands into television directing, she is excited to collaborate within dynamic storytelling ecosystems, bringing a distinct voice while honoring the world of each story she steps into.
