48-Hour Film Race
The STXIFF 48-Hour Film Race will kick off on August 30th at 6:00 p.m. Contestants will have 48 hours to write, film, edit, and upload their short films. The filmmakers that meet the 48-hour deadline will have their films screened at the 10th Annual South Texas International Film Festival and be eligible for awards.
FILM FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION
STXIFF will be screening various films from September 11th to September 14th, 2024, and is open to the public. Audience members can view local, national, and international films in any genre throughout the festival. Audience members can also look forward to meeting many of the folks who brought these films to life! Check the festival program to see if a film block will feature a filmmaker Q&A session following the screening. The films are scheduled in blocks which are groups of films that are the same length and in the same category.

THE PITCH Contest
One lucky screenwriter will walk away with an award at the STXIFF Eddy Awards.
To compete in The Pitch, screenwriter must submit a title, logline, 200-300 word synopsis, and concept art at filmfreeway.com/stxiff and finalists agree to attend the festival in person. Participants may submit a script but it is not required. The Pitch live competition will take place on the Saturday of the festival. Finalists must be present in Edinburg on the day of the event in order to qualify for a prize. The winner will be announced that same day at the STXIFF Award Ceremony.
